What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally-occurring product of industrial hemp (cannabis sativa) plants.

Cannabis plants contain hundreds of chemical compounds called cannabinoids. CBD is one of the main cannabinoids abundantly found in hemp and is non-psychoactive. The other main cannabidiol that receives a lot of attention is delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), found in high concentrations in the marijuana plant. This is the cannabinoid that is responsible for getting users of products that contain it, “high”. However, it is not found in high enough concentrations in the hemp plant to produce psychoactive effects.

How do I consume CBD?

We offer CBD oil that is available in a tincture or in delicious gummies. Tinctures can be placed under the tongue 30-60 seconds (recommended for fastest absorption) or taken orally. They can also be blended into your favorite smoothie. Gummies are taken orally. Please refer to the manufacturer’s product label for dosage information.

What’s the difference between CBD produced from hemp and CBD from marijuana? Aren’t hemp and marijuana the same thing?

Both hemp and marijuana are from the cannabis family. Physically, the plants differ in appearance and hemp naturally has a much lower concentration of THC.  Marijuana can have as much as 25-30% THC where hemp has less than 0.3% THC. CBD that is produced from both the hemp and marijuana plants, however, have the same exact chemical makeup and the same health benefits.
